How long is the trial and do I need a card?

Seven days, and no. You sign up with an email address, and Merris starts working immediately — up to 10 tracked items during the trial so you can see the reminders actually land before you decide anything.

What happens the moment my trial ends?

Nothing is charged and nothing is deleted. We email you four days out, two days out, on the final day and again when it ends. If you do nothing, your account goes read-only: every item, label and document stays exactly where it is, you just can't add new ones until you pick a plan. An app about unwanted auto-renewals is not going to auto-renew you by surprise.

Can I get the trial back or extend it?

The seven days run once per account, but picking a plan at any point — during the trial or months later — unlocks everything again with your data intact. If you genuinely needed longer to test something, email us and we'll sort it.

What do the plans cost?

Accepted Answer

Starter is $4.99 a month and Pro is $9.99 a month, both in USD and excluding applicable taxes. Billing is monthly — there is no annual lock-in to talk you into.

Where do I see what I've been charged?

Accepted Answer

Your Billing history page lists every period with the amount, the dates it covered, the payment status and a downloadable invoice. It also shows the card on file and when your next renewal falls.

How do I cancel, and what happens to my data?

Accepted Answer

One button on the Billing history or Account page — no phone call, no chat queue. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've already paid for, then the account becomes read-only rather than being wiped. Change your mind before it lapses and "Keep my plan" resumes it as if nothing happened. Closing your account entirely deletes your items, labels and documents for good.

What if a payment fails?

Stripe retries over roughly two to three weeks and emails you each time. Your access continues while it retries, so a briefly expired card doesn't cost you a single reminder.

What's actually different about Pro?

Accepted Answer

Starter covers up to 50 items with full reminders, labels and document storage — plenty for one household's renewals and bills. Pro removes the item limit and adds the parts that stop you doing data entry: file drops into the holding pen, and Read & Sort, which reads documents and fills the item in for you.

Can I move between plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes, either direction, from the Account page. Moving up takes effect immediately. Moving down keeps everything you've stored — if you're over the 50-item Starter allowance we tell you before you confirm, and nothing gets deleted; you just can't add new items until you're back under it.

Is there a plan for a household or a couple?

One Pro account with no item limit covers a household's admin today. Shared households with separate logins are on the roadmap — tell us if that's what you need, because that's how it gets prioritised.

What does Read & Sort actually do?

Anything you drop into your holding pen — a renewal notice, an insurance PDF, a rego reminder — gets read for the details that matter: what it is, who it's with, what's due, how much, and when. You get a suggested item, already filled in, and you either accept it or fix a field. That's the whole interaction.

How do I get things into the holding pen?

Two ways: paste or type text, or upload a file. File drops are a Pro feature; typed notes work on any plan.

How accurate is it, and what if it gets something wrong?

Amounts and dates are cross-checked against the exact wording in your document, and anything we can't verify is flagged as low confidence rather than quietly guessed. Nothing is ever filed without you accepting it, and every field stays editable afterwards.

Is my paperwork used to train AI models?

No. Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, scoped to your account only, never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train models. Delete a document or your whole account and it's gone.

Do I have to enter my whole life before this is useful?

Accepted Answer

No, and please don't try. Start with the ten items that cost real money if missed — insurance, rego, rates, subscriptions you resent. Ten minutes. After that you add things as they arrive by dropping them into the holding pen, which is where Read & Sort earns its keep.

Why not just use my existing to-do or calendar app?

Because those tools need you to remember to feed them, and the whole failure you're trying to fix is remembering.
